What is the 200-hour Attendance & Class Make-up Policy?

Yoga Alliance requires that you complete all 200 hours of the teacher training. However, we understand that sometimes conflicts come up, and we have developed the make-up policy listed below. Please note that you can miss a maximum of 27 training hours, and you will have one year from the last day of your program to complete your attendance requirements. If you miss more than 27 hours or do not complete your make up hours within one year, you will receive a not passing status and will be required to pay in full to retake the training.

You have the following two options for making up your missed time:

Option 1:

Schedule a private session with your trainer at some point during the program. The cost of a private session $100 per hour:

  • 1 hour private = 1-5 hours of missed time

  • 1.5 hour private = 6-11 hours of missed time

  • 2 hour private = 12-1 hours of missed time

  • 2.5 hour private = 17-22 hours of missed time

  • 3 hour private = 22-27 hours of missed time

Please note: Only one sessions of private instruction, regardless of hours, are allowable and are subject to trainer availability. Private make up sessions are only an option during your current training and are not an option once the program is complete.

Please note that if you miss over 27 hours, you will not pass the program and will be required to pay in full to retake the program.

I am drawn to this training, but am not sure if I want to be a teacher. Can I still participate?

The call to a training isn’t always about learning to instruct yoga practices. This training is open to anyone wanting to dive into a transformational and heart opening experience alongside like-minded others. There is power in numbers!

I have an injury/condition, can I still participate?

We always recommend that participants check with their care providers for recommendation and release. We are all unique bodies, working with what we’ve got! Many of us are living with injuries/conditions, some of which may have brought us to the healing powers of yoga. If you are working with an injury/condition that may be affected by deepening your yoga practice, please know that you are welcome to participate, and you must use your own judgement and intuition to put your health and wellbeing first.

What is the attendance & class make-up policy?

If unavoidable circumstances occur and result in you missing hours, you are required to make up this time within 1 year of the start date of the training you are enrolled in.
